Client Support Specialist

Are you a recent college grad who loves working with technology? CRU Solutions is a dynamic managed IT services company specializing in Windows-based environments. Bring your energy and willingness to learn and help us grow!

We have an immediate opening for a Client Support Specialist. This is a full-time technical position with benefits. As first-level support, you’ll help clients solve their technical questions by phone and email from our office in Broadview Heights, with potential for hybrid work. You’ll be part of the Client Services team, supporting personal computers, peripheral equipment, smaller networks (under supervision), and entry level communications equipment. Your excellent communications skills are as important as sound technical skills. Be ready to learn fast, be flexible, and work independently knowing you have a skilled team behind you.

You’ll help clients as their first line of defense. You will spend some time on the phone and often follow-ups in email. The nature of the questions will be around Windows Server networks, the Microsoft Office Suite, and Office365 Email. We do a lot more, and as you get comfortable, you’ll get to do more too — lots more! We’ll work together to find your niche.

There may be a time when the question leads to some spontaneous training. Go for it! We want our clients to know as much as possible, but you need to know when they’ve had enough. Topics may be about the network, Internet, remote access, email security – everything comes up.

There may be a user looking for remote access. Working within the approval process, you’ll get to setup the VPN and remote desktop connection.

We take pride in good documentation. You’ll get to create your own tickets and have input on existing tickets. We work in a collaborative, supportive environment—asking for a judgement call or escalation is just a desk away.

Deskside Support Specialist

We have an immediate opening for a Deskside Support Specialist. This is a full-time technical position with benefits from day 1.

Expand your knowledge of computer setup, configuration, and printer setup to include corporate standard environments. You will also be able to help clients solve their technical questions by phone and email from our office in Broadview Heights. We have accommodations for hybrid working too.

You’ll be a part of the Technical Services team. You’ll get to support personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, and communications equipment with the support of the team. Your work will include onsite support calls at our clients in the greater Cleveland/Akron area. You’ll install new user computers, perform service calls, and answer users’ software and hardware questions. As you grow into the position, you will help engineer and implement network upgrades and installations.

Here are some highlights:

  • Works continually towards self-development to stay current on networking best practices, technical proficiency, and advances in technology.
  • Configures and/or troubleshoots VPN access for users, manages user security, and adding and purging users.
  • Investigates error messages and determines resolution. Investigates appropriate areas of potential problem and uses good judgment to determine resolution or escalate appropriately.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshoots networking issues for computers, routers, firewalls, and other equipment; tests and adjusts configuration in alignment with best practices.
  • Preps and installs new user computers including data transfer, settings migration, printers, shares, etc. to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Installs new hardware including laptops, desktops, printers, switches and access points.
  • Assists with server installations, migrations, and client/workstation reconfigurations.
