Deskside Support Specialist

We have an immediate opening for a Deskside Support Specialist. This is a full-time technical position with benefits from day 1.
Expand your knowledge of computer setup, configuration, and printer setup to include corporate standard environments. You will also be able to help clients solve their technical questions by phone and email from our office in Broadview Heights. We have accommodations for hybrid working too.
You’ll be a part of the Technical Services team. You’ll get to support personal computers, peripheral equipment, networks, and communications equipment with the support of the team. Your work will include onsite support calls at our clients in the greater Cleveland/Akron area. You’ll install new user computers, perform service calls, and answer users’ software and hardware questions. As you grow into the position, you will help engineer and implement network upgrades and installations.

Here are some highlights:
- Works continually towards self-development to stay current on networking best practices, technical proficiency, and advances in technology.
- Configures and/or troubleshoots VPN access for users, manages user security, and adding and purging users.
- Investigates error messages and determines resolution. Investigates appropriate areas of potential problem and uses good judgment to determine resolution or escalate appropriately.
- Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshoots networking issues for computers, routers, firewalls, and other equipment; tests and adjusts configuration in alignment with best practices.
- Preps and installs new user computers including data transfer, settings migration, printers, shares, etc. to the client’s satisfaction.
- Installs new hardware including laptops, desktops, printers, switches and access points.
- Assists with server installations, migrations, and client/workstation reconfigurations.
